Randy Fry "Big X" Fishing & Freedive Tournament

Who: The public is welcome — this angling and free dive tourney is in memory of the late, great Randy Fry - the avid abalone diver, fisherman, competitive spearfisher who dedicated his efforts to the rights of recreational anglers and divers. Sponsored in part by the Sonoma County Abalone Network. SCAN board members will be on hand to discuss the abalone resource.

What: Join us for a fun saltwater fishing and diving tournament with trophies for abalone and nearshore rockfish. Will this be the year you find a Big Ten Inch Abalone? Show your skills at the 4th Annual Randy Fry "Big X" Memorial Fishing and Freedive Tournament.

When: Saturday, October 13, 2007. Check in begins at 7 AM. Check-out by 1 PM.

Where: Ocean Cove Campground on the Sonoma County Coast, north of Jenner at 23125 Coast Highway One. Ocean Cove Campground is at mile marker SON 38.0. We've reserved a group campsite and encourage participants to join us at Ocean Cove Friday evening. Individual sites are available on a first-come, first served basis, and there are plenty of sites available at nearby state parks.

Entry fee: $35, includes a hot lunch, trophy awards, free RFA membership and a chance to win a Kayak (thanks to the Sonoma County Abalone Network). Kayak raffle tickets at $5 each, or $20 for five tickets. Online registration: http://randyfry.eventbrite. com .

Rules: This is a team event, 2 per team. Each team must check in at Ocean Cove Campground and check out by 1 pm for the weigh in.
