Mendocino Abalone Violators Sentenced or Tried Jan 24, 2008

Jianxin Chen was fined $1,242 for failure to maintain abalone logs.

- Ken Jiang pleaded no contest to possessing five abalone over the limit and was placed on a 24-month probation. He was sentenced to five days in MCJ, ordered to forfeit his dive gear, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,782

- Guoxin Zeng was arraigned for alleged felony conspiracy to commit a crime involving taking abalone He will enter a plea on Feb. 19.

- Yijun Zhang was arraigned for alleged felony conspiracy to commit a crime involving taking abalone. He will enter a plea on Feb. 19.

- Yuyang, Zhao pleaded not guilty to alleged commercial abalone violations and a JT was set for May 7.- Lung K. Lee was placed on a 12-month probation, fined $1,350, and ordered to forfeit his dive gear when he pleaded no contest to possessing two abalone over the limit.

- Guang Z. Liang was placed on a 24-month probation, sentenced to five days in MCJ, ordered to forfeit his dive gear, and fined $1,890 for possessing six abalone over the limit.

- George Liu pleaded no contest to possessing six abalone over the limit and was placed on a 24-month probation. He was also sentenced to five days in MCJ, fined $1,890, and ordered to forfeit his dive gear.
